Yeti Rambler Colster - a Stainless Steel Koozie?

Yeti Rambler Colster

What's this, a stainless steel koozie? How in the heck does that work? Better not to ask questions, just take a look at the Yeti Rambler Colster - this thing is one bad dude:
Yeti's New Rambler Colster - Release date: Spring 2015
After revolutionizing the cooler market with their incredible ice retention system seen in their Tundra and Roadie coolers, Yeti has been stepping it up big time with their line of beverage accessories. First, it was the Rambler Tumblers that took the world by storm with their ability to keep drinks warm or cold - for extensive amounts of time. Now, their newest product, the Rambler Colster seeks to change the way you drink your favorite can or bottle beverage.

Constructed from kitchen grade stainless steel, the Colster keeps drinks cold for hours - long enough for you to nurse that brew while out enjoying the super hot summer days when boating, bbq-ing or tailgating.

More information on the Yeti Rambler Colster can be found at Monster Fishing Tackle.

Fringe Tackle Swimbaits

Fringe Tackle Swimbaits

Over the past 6 months we've been repeatedly asked by customers to add the Fringe Tackle Hollow Belly Swimbaits to our inventory. We admit, before a customer brought this to our attention, we had never heard of the company or seen the baits he referred to as the most detailed he had come across. Upon first look at some of the detailed color patterns and unique pours we were sold. Fringe Tackle is a small company based out of Austin, Texas where owner/master bait maker Jeff Piil creates his masterpieces. The Fringe Tackle Hollow Belly Swimbait has already been responsible for a number of bass fishing tournament victories including the FLW Rayovac event at Lake Guntersville in Alabama.
The baits are better seen than described as their color patterns are just beautiful. Fringe Tackle decided to make the baits hollow belly style because they found they could pour with more detail and because the angler could then have more freedom to decide upon rigging options. What we really like about the configuration of the bait is the well defined hook slot along the belly that holds a 8/0 Owner Beast Hook just ideally.

Nichols Ben Parker Magnum Spoon

Nichols Ben Parker Magnum Spoon

The Ben Parker Magnum Spoon, from Nichols Lures, is a gigantic metal spoon used for bass fishing. First gaining notoriety at the Kentucky Lake FLW Tour event, the Ben Parker Magnum Spoon has quickly become the hottest ledge fishing lure in the country. Once you've seen the spoon, you'll understand just how massive this thing is measuring 8"x 2.5" and weighing in at 3oz - it's basically a big metal huddleston swimbait in terms of specs.

Where is the Nichols Ben Parker Magnum Spoon for sale?

Currently, the Ben Parker Magnum Spoons are not available at retailers, however, they should arrive within the next few weeks and will retail for $17.49. One of the many online retailers to carry them will be Monster Fishing Tackle.

Fishing the Ben Parker Magnum Spoon

The Ben Parker Magnum Spoon is gigantic. Measuring 8" x 2.5" and weighing 3oz it is a real beast to toss all day long. Therefore, the correct tackle is important for realizing success with the spoon. Anglers should employ 7'6" - 8' 5 or 6 power rods - one such option is using the same rod you would for the Alabama Rig as the ratings are fairly similar. High speed casting reels spooled with 20lb fluorocarbon line is preferred for getting the most action out of this fluttering spoon.

New Strike King Rage Menace

New Strike King Rage Menace

Strike King's Rage Tail series of soft plastics baits have been a big hit since their introduction a few years ago. On the heels of the success of the original line of Rage Tail plastics comes several new lures utilizing the tail-kicking technology. One such soft plastic is the new Rage Menace Twin Tail Grub.
Menace - 4" Twin Tail Grub
The Strike King Rage Tail Menace is a twin tail grub that displays a rather unusual design when compared to other grub style baits. The most obvious distinction of the Menace being the lack of curl tail legs or appendages. The action of this lure instead relies upon the Rage Tail technology to get the tails kicking, and boy do they kick. The Menace is the perfect compliment to the Strike King Rage Blade swim jig or the Denny Brauer Structure Jig.

Although incredibly effective as a jig trailer, the Menace has also become a hit among anglers punching thick matted vegetation. Paired with a heavy tungsten punch weight and threaded on a stout flipping hook, the Strike King Menace easily slips through any type of vegetation anglers wish to fish. The tails kick all the way down through the pads or grass imitating small crayfish or bluegill on which big bass feed.

The New Strike King Rage Menace Twin Tail Grub is sure to be a big hit among bass fishermen.

New Deps Slide Swimmer 250

Deps 250 Slide Swimmer ABS Inject

Deps Japan has been hard at it, working on the New Deps Slide Swimmer 250 ABS inject models. The new models will be released in the 175mm size and the 250mm. The original slide swimmer molds were approaching 10 years of age and needed to be replaced. They saw this as an opportunity to improve on the lure that has brought personal best catches to 1000’s of anglers across the world. The owner of Deps Japan and designer of the Slide Swimmer, Kazumasa Okumura, has 12 years of experience with this bait and knew exactly what they could do to augment the baits performance. Working with the legendary trophy hunter, Butch Brown, who also has 6 years of usage with the Slide Swimmer the two made some modifications that will help get us all get bit more often.

Slide Swimmer Injected Benefits

  • Made out of ABS Plastic
  • Features soft silicon skin
  • The 175 will use Jointed 8 Rings to connect the bodies and for eye ties. This will aid in strength for a shorter sized bait.
  • The 250 will use longer heavier duty Heaton screws for body connections and eye ties.
  • The Heaton used to join the bodies on the 250 will be adjustable. The longer you leave the Heaton the wider action, and the shorter the Heaton the tighter, quicker action the bait has.
  • The Silicon Skin will still be removable and the weights will still be on the outside of the body allowing for easy modification. The slide swimmers come standard with a Rate of Fall of about 5 feet per 10 seconds. Adding weight or taking away weight can be done with the new models.
  • Color line up options increases. The clear ABS plastic allows for ghost & clear coloring patterns. The original colors to date will also be available.
  • A Spring Weight is added to front body. With a slow steady retrieve the spring weight does not emit any sounds just like the original, but when the bait is jerked or fished with a faster retrieve the weighted ball bounces of the walls of the bait producing fish enticing sounds. There is also a slight vibration as the bait falls.
Projected release dates will be for late summer for the 175 and shortly thereafter for the 250.

Strike King Rage Tail DB Structure Bug

New Strike King Rage Tail Structure Bug

The all new Strike King Rage Tail DB Structure Bug is a soft plastic craw style bait featuring the Rage design technology that increases action of soft plastic tremendously. Designed with input from legendary BASS angler, Denny Brauer, the Rage Structure Bug displays all of the characteristics desired in a soft plastic bass fishing bait. A solid, ribbed main section possesses sufficient plastic for rigging the bait with stout flipping hooks behind heavy tungsten weights when punching and flipping in heavy cover. The highly active appendages flare and flail through the water imitating forage species such as crayfish, bluegill and other food sources bass feed upon. The profile of the Strike King Rage Bug is absolutely ideal for cover. A wide, bulky bait will be more likely to catch on the obstructions instead of falling down to the bass below. This bait easily makes its way through light cover without sacrificing on action.
Rage Tail Structure Bug - 4"

The Rage Tail Structure Bug is also a great choice on the back of a jig when you need some extra bulk - either for a slower fall or for those times you are targeting true lunkers. The Strike King Rage Bug measures 4" in length - the perfect size for all types of bass fishing applications.

Livingston Lures Prototype Crankbait

Howell's Livingston Lures Prototype Crankbait

There's very little information available regarding Livingston Lure's Prototype Crankbait which played a key role in Randy Howell's Classic victory. What we do know, however, is that the crankbait is part of Livingston Lures new pro series baits which are being designed by legendary lure designer Jerry Rago. Working closely with Livingston's elite class of professional anglers, Rago has painstakingly worked to get every last detail right on the new Pro Series of baits. Widely considered the industry's most creative mind and responsible for a significant number of revolutionary bait technologies, Jerry Rago continues to expand his resume with his long secret crankbaits. Preferring large swimbaits for his own personal fishing, Rago kept his crankbait designs under wraps while he pursued his passion for making big baits. His work is now celebrated among the masses with notable Rago productions such as the SKT Swimmer, BV3D and Live Trout Swimbait. Additionally, his patented design of the Glideator swimbait is the basis of all glide style swimbaits such as the Deps Slide Swimmer and Gancraft Jointed Claw.
His work with Livingston Lures exclusive EBS technology has taken his designs to a completely new level. The very first prototype models reached the anglers the day before the 2014 Bassmaster Classic, but without any time to test them out and understand their action, they were unlikely to be in play for the tournament. That all changed on the final day when eventual winner Randy Howell saw the need for a wider wobble crankbait that could reach depths of about 8-10 feet. After securing a solid limit of 20lbs early on, Howell began sorting through his boxes of lures in search of something that could bump up his weight. Eventually, he stumbled across the Rago Livingston Lures prototype crankbait and realized it fit the situation perfectly. During the remaining time on the final day of the Bassmaster Classic, Howell culled his way up to 29lbs using what is now certain to be his new favorite lure.
With no expected release date in sight, it appears Randy Howell's prototype crankbait will remain his secret weapon in the months to come. We'll be highly anticipating getting our hands on one and will surely have them available for sale on our site as soon as possible.

  • X-Ship for great gear durability
  • SVS Infinity Brake System (Infinite Cast Control)
  • Shimano Stable Spool Design (S3D)
  • Cross Carbon Drag
  • Offset Handle Design
  • Center Clutch Design

Curado I Series Reel Features:

SVS Infinity
Shimano’s newest innovation in brake system technology, SVS Infinity provides easy-to-manage, consistent spool control and brake force on the new Curado I series baitcasting reels. With brake weights that use ‘inner friction’ against the raceway during the cast, SVS Infinity controls spool speed especially when using lighter lures, plus the external adjustment knob provides for quick, precise adjustments for either the conditions or when you switch baits. Combined with X-Ship Technology, anglers will experience precision cast control.
X-Ship
X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear is eliminated, enhancing the casting performance with lighter lures, and allowing for longer casts.
Shimano Stable Spool Design (S3D)
Shimano’s S3D technology leads to significantly reduced spool vibration. By designing a balanced and uniform thin wall aluminum constructed spool, S3D creates an incredibly smooth feeling when casting and retrieving lures.
Escape Hatch
By flipping a switch, the sideplate swivels downward, giving the angler quick access to adjust the VBS weights. The switch is located in a position that is easy to use, yet remains out of the way to prevent accidental opening. The sideplate is smooth for comfort when palming the reel.
Super Free
The Super Free bearing-supported pinion gear system (SF) was designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast. In standard baitcasting reels, when the clutch bar is pressed down, the pinion gear is freed and can actually drag on the spool shaft, creating friction and limiting the length of the cast. With SF, the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing, and when the clutch is disengaged the pinion gear and spool shaft are kept in precise alignment. The result is zero friction on the spool shaft for increased freespool.
Super Stopper
Super Stopper uses a one-way, stainless steel roller bearing that eliminates backplay. This provides the angler with instant hooksetting power.
